DOW Networks can provide toll-free service to any location in the world utilizing Voice over IP technology.  DOW Networks can terminate calls to a traditional PBX, a newer - generation IP PBX or can provide the PBX functionality as well.

Typically, in the traditional PBX scenario, DOW Networks will program and install a gateway on the customer site. The gateway is connected to the internet on one side and PBX on the other.  The gateway depends upon whether there is an analog card, E-1 card, or T-1 card interface in the PBX and the amount of concurrent call traffic.

On a toll-free call, the voice signal is transmitted to the DOW Networks Operations Center gateways.  There the call is changed from a voice signal to a data packet and sent across the internet to the IP address programmed in the gateway at the customer site.  The gateway changes the data packet back into a voice signal and hands it off to the PBX.

For redundancy purposes, DOW Networks can program the toll-free numbers such that should the established internet connection fail, the calls could route over a secondary internet connection.  DOW Networks can also provide redundancy via fail-over to the PSTN.

DOW Networks can also provide advanced call routing features such as time of day routing and call re-direct.

Time of Day Routing

DOW Networks provides Time of Day routing to call centers throughout the world.  As an example, say a company has a customer care center in the USA that is staffed from 8 am to 6 pm and simultaneously has a customer center in the Philippines that is staffed for the remainder of the day.  DOW Networks can seamlessly re-direct the toll-free number calls to the appropriate destination at the prescribed time, or on request.

Call Re-Direct

DOW Networks provide Call Re-Direct options to customers with operations in multiple locations.  As an example, say a company has a customer care center in one location that is the primary recipient of toll-free number calls.  Should that customer care center receive its maximum capacity of calls, DOW Networks can re-direct the next call to an alternate site.

Additionally, DOW Networks provides a web interface allowing customers to instantly re-direct calls as they see fit.  As an example, if a customer had a customer care site down, they could instantly re-route incoming toll-free calls to a second site by themselves.

Resporg (Responsible Organization)

If you currently have toll-free numbers with another carrier and are looking to move or “port” those numbers away from that carrier, the process is a simple and seamless routine called the RESPORG process.  Since DOW Networks has its own Resporg number and direct access to the national SMS database, the process is quicker and more efficient than with other carriers who have to rely on third parties for the process.

All USA numbers and Universal Free Phone (UIFN) numbers can be Resporged.  Most, but not all, International Toll-Free Service (ITFS) numbers can be Resporged.  A DOW Networks representative can provide you with complete details.

Vanity Numbers

DOW Networks has the ability to provide vanity numbers for customers.  Vanity numbers can be important marketing tools.  An example of a vanity number is 1-800-FLOWERS.

Vanity numbers are possible for USA toll-free numbers and Universal Free Phone (UIFN) numbers, but not for International Toll-Free Service (ITFS) numbers.  DOW Networks has access to a database of all vanity numbers and can research quickly the availability of requested vanity numbers.  A DOW Networks representative can provide you with complete details.
