DOW Networks Acquires Avoxi Communications
ATLANTA (January 10, 2006) - DOW Networks announced
today that it has acquired the assets of Avoxi Communications
, the largest licensed Voice over IP provider in Jamaica
in a private equity and cash exchange. This transaction
was completed December 31, 2005.
Said DOW Networks CEO David Wise, “There is a nice strategic fit for us by acquiring Avoxi. First, it allows us to expand our global footprint and gives us more redundancy in our network. Second, by acquiring the assets of Avoxi, we will be able to provide better technical and customer support to our existing client base. Third, Avoxi brings exciting revenue opportunities and instant brand recognition in the local Jamaican market.”
Avoxi Communications has been operational in Jamaica since 2002 and provides bandwidth and Voice over IP services to call centers, hotels and other international businesses. Said Dennis Oliver, General Manager, Avoxi, “This is a win-win for both companies. DOW Networks is a well-funded company that has a track record of providing high-quality, mission-critical telecommunications services to their clients and this will be a positive development for our customers and the Jamaican telcom market.”
